Alumni Council at HKS Careers Night
Over 300 Kennedy School students, alumni, HKS staff, Councilors, speakers, employers and guests attended the 27th Annual Career Networking Event on January 19th at the National Press Club. The Council and OCA (Office of Career Advancement at HKS) helped visiting students network with alumni and employers to pursue career opportunities in public service.
Over 45 alumni and friends attended a special panel on careers in DC, hosted by the Alumni Council and moderated by Wendy Pangburn (Chair of the HKS Alumni Board of Directors) with panelists Lisa-Joy Zgorski, Paige Ennis (Atlantic Council), Charlie Ingersoll (Korn Ferry), Julian Ha (Heidrick & Struggles) and Lily Whiteman (Federal Career Coach and Author).
Karen Jackson-Weaver, HKS Senior Associate Dean for Degree Programs & Student Affairs, and Mary Beaulieu, HKS Assistant Dean and OCA Director, welcomed the group and coordinated activities with their staff members from Cambridge. Council President Steve Powell also addressed the audience to explain alumni activities in DC. He thanked Lisa-Joy (Council Treasurer) and Jayme Johnson (Council Vice-President) for working with other Councilors and with OCA on such an important and successful event.
And thanks go to Council Friend Emilian Papadopoulos and his HKS in DC Facebook Group for hosting the after-party across the street at the Hamilton…It was a great day and evening!
