Flying high at 9am...

Earlier this year, Councilor and former Council President Allison Shapira (MPA 2010) asked Congresswoman Martha McSally (MPP 1990) to speak to the DC Alumni Network. The Arizona Republican agreed and attended a special breakfast in her honor at the National Press Club on October 21st.

Organized by Councilors Nancy Bearg (MPA 1978) and Ellen Stiefvater (MPP 2002), the event drew over 30 alumni. They heard an animated, passionate and authentic McSally describe how she became the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat... and how she continues to fight for her positions and beliefs while in Congress.
