To infinity - and Dupont

Billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are building rockets and Valley-leading venture capitalists are staking startups in communications, imaging, and space tourism. From CNN to Wired to NPR, stories come out daily on space technology and space transformation. We hosted a small group at Mission Dupont for dinner and a space policy discussion with record-holding astronaut Michael Lopez-Alegria, HKS Senior Executive in National and International Security ’11, and internationally-known space industry expert Carissa Bryce Christensen, MPP ’87. Questions ranged from investment in the business of space, the technology that results, and lighter questions about space travel. Michael is a Navy test pilot, NASA astronaut, and American who has had the longest spaceflight (215 days on the International Space Station). Carissa is a space industry analyst, technology investor, and Managing Partner of The Tauri Group. He was by far the most humble person in the room. Look out for more tech-focused policy pop-up's in 2016. They're a favorite for HKS alums.
