Public Safety and Security in the Time of the Coronavirus with Maj. Gen (ret) Linda Singh

During this tense time when so many of us are engaging in social distancing, the HKS DC Alumni Council seeks to provide our community with a series of public service advisory conversations.  These timely discussions are designed to provide opportunities to connect, learn, and share best practices about navigating various aspects of life during (and after!) this crisis. 

For our inaugural conversation, and in honor of Women’s History Month, we are proud to feature (Ret) Maj. Gen. Linda Singh, the first woman and first African American to lead the Maryland National Guard, who will lead a discussion on public safety and security in the time of the coronavirus.  Singh has a wealth of experience to bring to bear on this topic.  From January 2015 until her retirement last year, Singh was responsible for the daily operations of the Maryland Military Department, which includes Maryland’s National Guard, Air National Guard, Emergency Management Agency and Defense Force. She was a senior advisor to the Governor of Maryland and was responsible for the readiness, administration and training of more than 6,700 members of the Military Department.
