Join us for the next International Policy Roundtable (IPR) featuring Missy Ryan, Washington Post reporter and HKS alum, who will share her insights on some of the critical policy issues taking place in the Middle East. This “fire side” conversation will be facilitated by Lala Qadir, HKS alum and attorney at Covington and Burling. The conversation will provide you with an opportunity to engage them on global security issues.

About Missy Ryan
Missy Ryan, MPP alum and reporter for the Washington Post, covers national security, military issues and the Pentagon. She has reported from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Libya, Argentina, Peru, Chile and more. Her writing has appeared in numerous publications including the Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, San Francisco Chronicle, The Atlantic, San Diego Union-Tribune, Council on Foreign Relations, The (Toronto) Star, El Economista (Mexico), and La Nación (Argentina). Ms. Ryan has appeared on C-SPAN with her interviews of Secretary of the Air Force Deborah Lee James, and Secretary of the Army Mark Esper. She was interviewed by C-SPAN in 2017 after her Washington Post article with Greg Jaffe, “U.S. Poised to Expand Military Effort Against Taliban in Afghanistan.”

The HKS International Policy Roundtable (IPR) is a DC special interest group for HKS alumni. The group aims to serve as a forum to discuss matters of global significance involving a range of international policy topics. Structured as a participatory roundtable, the IPR seeks to expand alumni engagement within the HKS DC community while providing opportunities for alumni to forge friendships and professional networks.
