About the event

Recent Gallup polls reveal that 68% of people are likely to avoid investing in companies that contradict their values and 72% of shoppers will pay more for a product if the company has a positive impact on the community. These statistics reflect the growing number of people who want to align their societal values and their daily financial decisions. Join HKS alum Selam Daniel for practical suggestions on taking a values-aligned approach to deciding where we bank, shop, donate and invest. Explore surprising ways your savings account can provide capital for under-resourced neighborhoods, learn how to green your retirement accounts, and discover helpful resources to get started. Join us for an engaging discussion.

Selam Daniel MPP 2008 is a sustainable finance educator. She covers topics of how we might bank, shop, donate, and invest in line with our societal values. Over the past twenty years, she has lived and worked in Africa, Europe and South America, although she considers Washington D.C. to be home. She is a graduate of MIT and the Harvard Kennedy School.
