About the event

Cognitive skill disparities between groups are well-established in nationally-representative data by the time that children are two-years old. This presentation by Dr. Ron Ferguson will address how all of us can help alter this pattern, to pursue excellence with equity.  In addition, the session may briefly discuss the parenting of school-aged children, drawing on Professor Ferguson’s 2019 book co-authored with Tatsha Robertson, The Formula: Unlocking the Secrets to Raising Highly Successful Children.

Date: Thursday, March 18

Note of Interest: Dr. Ferguson is one of the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executive Fellows program’s faculty members. The Senior Executive Fellows (SEF) executive program from Harvard Kennedy School is now being offered online, with applications open for April and June sessions. Led by faculty chair Dana Born, SEF (Online) features much of the core content of our longstanding on campus offering along with important new modules that address critical issues governments and communities are facing in these particularly challenging times.

The program curriculum has been designed for optimal online learning, including interactive live sessions, self-study modules, faculty consultation sessions, a leadership challenge, live peer working sessions, and faculty office hours.

SEF (Online) tuition is $14,475. Alumni of the program will receive a Harvard Kennedy School executive education certificate of completion. For participants from the US Federal Government, this program will address all five of the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) Executive Core Qualifications for Senior Executive Service. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Horace Ling, Program Director, at Horace_ling@hks.harvard.edu.
